Save the date (or tell your female friends): Join us on Saturday, April 21 for Madame Jazz, a day dedicated to the wonderful women of the swing dance community! This is a chance for all the gals to hang out together. We’ll take in some lindy hop and solo jazz stylings, get energized by African dance, and enjoy many mor fun surprises. We use an inclusive definition of “woman” here and welcome anyone who self-identifies as female.
This year we welcome back Masani St Rose-Toth for some African and Caribbean dance, among other favourite instructors. Along with plenty of dancing, prepare to party and socialize! Friday evening we’ll meet up for a fun, relaxed, and social activity, which we will announce in the coming days. Once you’re rested up after Saturday’s classes, join us back at the ballroom for a night of social dancing at the Sugar Foot Stomp, where you can try your sweet new moves.
We aim to keep this workshop open to a range of skill levels. But some jazz or swing dance experience is highly recommended in order for the sessions to be enjoyable for you. We suggest that dancers have completed around 8-12 weeks of any class series at Sugar Swing or equivalent.
Stay tuned for the day’s itinerary and other details.
If you know a woman who might be interested, please share this event with them!
